I have just come back from a wonderful week away with my sons and granddaughters. We stayed in the UK, were blessed with glorious weather and we had the time of our lives. And the main reason for that? Because we spent quality time together, no gadgets in sight for the whole week, just pure family fun time.
Having a week away from the daily grind was much needed but the biggest takeaway was that we rarely spend actual focused, quality time together. Someone’s usually picking up their phone to check whatever’s just made it ping, the children are glued to their screens watching whatever they can and every conversation we have is interrupted or only half listened to. We’re all guilty of it. Giving undivided attention seems to be becoming a rarity. And it is in these moments of distraction that we lose touch with the richness of the present.

The importance of mindfulness
Being in the moment, free from distractions, is a cornerstone of mindfulness. It's about acknowledging and accepting the here and now, without judgement. When we cultivate this ability, we experience a profound shift in our perception of life.
